I was able to make the last two games of my oldest son's tournament this past weekend. That is after coaching 2 hours away for my middle boy. Nothing scheduled but baseball for the next few weeks.

I am going to have to find someone to take pics of my middle boy in the fall since I can't do it while coaching him.

All shot with the 1D Classic, Sigma 100-300mm f4, iso 400, SS varied depending on light.

Let me know what you think.

All your recent sports posts are excellent. Surprisingly, no remarks about the clarity you're getting from the Sigma lens. Love all of them - the shots that is.

Cracks me up every time he says it.

Great color and focus.
What focusing mode(s) do you use?

Sigma gets slammed a lot on many forums. But all my Sigma glass has been very good to me. I have complaints about it all.

I use auto focus and shoot manual all the time. Straight up manual, I'll meter off sky, grass, a uniform. But Expose for faces probably all the time.

As I shoot, I adjust my exposure as need and I'll shoot mostly wide open. maybe go up a stop or two depending on the light. And I'll also adjust my iso as needed. With noise reduction in LR, I am not afraid to shoot high iso at all.

Matter of fact, all my wrestling shots are shot at iso 800 and flash.
