I feel as though my photography skills have gotten rusty...but I'm out to fix that! So right after it stopped raining earlier today (well, technically yesterday now), I went and photographed one of my favorite subjects: my truck.

Please rip the photo apart as I am trying to get much better - any comments/criticism welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

Taken with a 7D and a borrowed 24-70 f/2.8L

The tree coming out of the truck is distracting, next time roll it down a few yards so it is out of the way.

Apart from that, nice composition.

I didn't even notice the tree until I got home and started viewing on my computer...stupid mistake. As for the mirror, good catch, I can probably make that less distracting by making the reflection of it darker.

The bright area at the left pulls the eye away from the pickup.

I feel as though my photography skills have gotten rusty...

Since 2009? Post #2. ;)

Haha well I guess it hasn't been too long, but I mean I haven't been taking photos as often as I'd like to. So I'm going to change that and hopefully it will help me improve more.
As for the bright spot, good point. How can I avoid that? Should I try blending exposures next time to avoid blowing those highlights?

That would work.
