720/60p. There's your reason. 1080/24p looks like crap when anything moves quickly with sports and motorsports. For weddings... sure. Weddings dont pay my bills though, sports videography is what does.

Just FYI - there is no television station that actually broadcasts 1080p. ESPN and Nat Geo do 1080i in certain scenarios, but not even an HD channel is 1080p, ever. Since I do video for web and the air... 720p is the standard operating format for anything short of ESPN. I sent them 720p footage the other day and they had no problems with it...

Yeah, all those Hollywood movies released in 1080p/24 look like crap...

there are too many people on these forums will NO ACTUAL WORKING EXPERIENCE, but spout out crap like they know what they are talking about...
