This actually has me a upset.

Shooting a wedding at a golf venue tomorrow. So I asked the event coordinator to supply me with one ball- a tee and a putter. I thought I could get some interesting fun shot around the course.

Anyway the venue said... No can do.... Seems a bit uncooperative to me. I have had other golf course respond to this request in a positive manner.

I guess I will bring my own props but it seems like the venue could have been a bit more cooperative. It's not like I am going to be stealing golf clubs *L*

Why would you expect the event coordinator to supply you with props? If the photos are to be done during business hours you might get better results going to the pro shop and asking if you can "demo" a club, a ball and tee are about a buck so thats on you...

I have done weddings at other golf venues in the past and it was handled by the event coordinator. I am going on past experience.

Before I go through the hassle at the pro shop, I would just bring my own props.

It seems like the event coordinator might be able to talk with the pro shop.

is the groom (or couple for that matter) a golfer himself even?

if it was my wedding, i probably wouldn't even want to be posed with a club or anything since i don't care for the sport.
BUT, if it was a golfing groom, he could bring out his own actual club(s)
they might even already be in the hotel suite,
since him and his groomsman probably played a round the day before :)

A sleeve of balls, a bag of tees and a putter(?) would be under $20 at a big box store...

Not sure how tees and a putter work together as props though..

I sent an email to the venue and got an apology. They said anything I need will be available.

It's actually the tees and golf ball. I am using the putter in a different concept.

I've only shot at golf course a couple of times and the key event person at the course has always been gracious and cooperative in providing everything and anything we've ever asked for.

I golf and would bring my own if I had to. Knowing in advance, as already suggested, I might ask that the groom bring a couple of his own items along.

I did exactly the same thing and just asked at the shop and they provided me with the equipment on the day no problem. You might even get some golfers offer their clubs etc

I shot some golf club where members pay big $$$ per year to be a member. We werent allowed to be anywhere near them. They had first priority if they were on the course. etc etc.. We werent allowed to make noise even and so on..you get the point. So yes some golf clubs are very strict :(

And if they have practice green that can be great too...

Incidentally to the OP... you don't use a tee with a putter

I have one wedding booked for next year (ceremony and reception) that is at a golf course
and they have already explicitly said that know one from the wedding are allowed anywhere near the course, greens, etc..

kind of a buzz kill, but at least no one is expecting to be allowed on them well in advance..
