Check out this article on the reinstatement of copyright infringement case by a photographer in New Jersey.

"David Korzenik, a lawyer for the radio station and the shock jocks, said the ruling will have a "chilling effect" on members of the media and the public because it creates uncertainty as to what is automated copyright, what triggers liability and what should be included to avoid liability."

To which I say good, next time pay the fee and obtain a proper license and stop being a thief.

I bet the station would sue me in a heartbeat if I grabbed some their programming and used for one of my productions, but when they do the same “it doesn’t matter”.
