For filming purposes only and excluding price:

If you could only have 1, which would you choose?

Some points to think about:

Is the extremely shallow depth of field on the 5D mark II a blessing or a curse? Does the low light performance of the 5D mark II at higher ISO's outweigh the 60D's articulating viewfinder? Is the 5D mark II's tendency to overheat more so than the 60D a big deal? What about 60FPS, or the lack of it on the 5D mark II? Does the "full frame look" counter the slight increase in aliasing and rolling shutter compared to the 60D? The 5D mark II also has superior build quality and weather protection.

the most annoying thing in the world to me regarding the 5d, that you didn't touch on, is the lack of HD output via HDMI and the god-forsaken lag when it drops the signal whenever you hit the record button.

I would switch to a 7d in a heartbeat if it had a full-frame sensor =p

Have never used a 60D. Beyond that, I'm actually with gibsonla on my biggest 5D2 complaint, because I've got a SmallHD monitor - LOVE using it with my 7D because of the full HD via HDMI, not so much with the 5d2.

However, I do get slightly nicer picture out of my 5D2 (not by much, but a little), which has never overheated once, while both my 7D and my T2i have.

60fps is nice if you ever want to slow stuff down. Other than that, 24fps is where it's at. I always export in 24fps since that is what youtube uses.

The full frame on the 5D II offers you much more versatility on any shoot. The depth of field it can offer isn't a curse because you can always choose whether or not you want to open up the Aperture and use it.. its your choice as long as you have a nice set of ND filters. If you choose a crop sensor you may end up kicking yourself when you are on a shoot that could benefit from the ridiculous depth of field and low light performance that the 5D II can offer. There are small things that may make the 5D II annoying, but you can't complain too much because you are choosing a DSLR camera to shoot video in the first place. 5D II doesn't have 60fps mode, thats its only real flaw.. you really need 60 fps for any type of super slow motion if you want it to look good.

P.S. I own a 7D and a 5D II and I use them both for video.
