I went to Beloit, Kansas on June 11th for the Kansas Eight Man Football All-Star Games. The games were created to give the Seniors who play Eight Man Football a chance to enjoy one last game before college. It was also created since the main High School All-Star game in Kansas is the Shrine Bowl and they typically only take two Eight Man players to join the rest of the Eleven Man players in the state.
We had great weather again this year for the games. It was nice to walk up and down the sidelines again with camera in hand. Not to mention, it was great to photograph football in daylight and not under lights.
The Division II game was a track meet with a final score of 74-30. East Quarterback Gunner Phelan (#9) went insane with an amazing passing game.
The Division I game was a closer affair with a 26-12 final score. It was more a classic grind it out ground game than the earlier one.
Several of the players from both Divisions will meet up in Hays, Kansas on June 25th for a game against the Nebraska Eight Man All-Stars.
