Has anybody had trouble with tiny specks of dirt getting on the INSIDE of the lens on their G10 and if so have you found a way of removing it!!

I have this problem and when I use an aperture greater than say f4, it shows up on my pictures, usually across a nice blue sky!

Second question, I am picking up on snippets of info that it might be possible to buy some sort of adaptor so that you can use a polarising filter on the G10?! This would be great news, can any of you enlighten me?!

Cheers.

Steve.

Dust in the lens has been an off and on issue since the G9 series;

Yes, there are adapter tubes you can buy to add filters to the G10/G11/G12 lenses. Here is the system available from Lensmate. There are lots of other third party companies with their offerings too.

and the Canon filter adapter made available when the G12 came out, which fits the G10 and G11 too. It zooms in and out with the lens, so no vignetting issues with any 58mm filters.

I am not that familiar with the dust problem,as I have only had my g12 (first g camera) for a month or so,But I can say that the FA-DC58 adapter is superb,yes it's plastic,but you get no vignetting with it,and it gives more to hold onto when using the camera,greatly enhancing the ergonimics,and alowing you to zoom at will.

Or you can just hold your polarizing sunnies in front of the lens...
