Anyone have any experience with this or any other carbon fiber Vanguard tripods? The local camera shop has one of these, I saw it today and it looks pretty good. The only thing I wonder about is the locks on the legs, they seem kind of flimsy.

Thanks.

It is a good tripod, but I am not a fan of the turn locks, I prefer the clip locks instead. Like this one, they are very solid tripods http://www.adorama.com/CUM525C.html (external link)

Don't have that one, but I have an aluminum alta and it is a great tripod.

Glad to hear it, I ordered one half an hour ago. There is a sale at Adorama, the tripod by itself is $279.99, if you buy the one with a panhead (which they are selling separately for $80) you can get it for $189.99.

FYI, it arrived today. Both the tripod and head are really nice, though I still swapped in my Giottos ballhead. Even the carrying case feels high quality.
