Settings in the 5d2 Viewfinder too Small

I have a 5D2 and a 50D. I also wear perscription progressive glasses.

I find it very hard to read the exposure meter and other settings through the view finder on the 5D2 while they are much larger and brighter on the 50D. Might there be a setting for this? Is there a way to change how the 5D2 displays them? I prefer spot metering and really can't just default to the external displays.

All the info in the viewfinder is 'fixed' and cannot be changed.

The displays should be bright and large enough to be read by someone with normal or corrected vision.
I suspect one of two related issues:
- you may not be able to use your progressive lenses while looking through the viewfinder;
- you may need to adjust the viewfinder dioptric setting to suit your vision either with, or without your glasses; if that is not possible, I think additional, or replacement dioptric lenses can be installed in the viewfinder.

I forgot all about that; that did the trick! The 50D's is still larger and brighter, but at least the 5D2 is now clear to me. Thanks!

Wait so there's no scroll that changes the viewfinder settings? I might have to pass on the 5d2 now...lol jk
