Looks promising

Team Phottix is getting a lot of email about the Phottix Odin TTL trigger for Canon.

Yes, we admit the dates we have mentioned have come and gone with the product not being released. For that we are sorry. Building a TTL control and triggering system from scratch is not an easy task (understatement).........

So in what ways is this supposed to be better than the ST-E2, more range, easier menus (LCD screen and all), etc?

Some cameras, some lenses, plenty of gaffer's tape and beer.

Im guessing price, range, features, etc.
Also, doesnt the ST-E2 need to be in direct site especially outdoors?

Radio rather than infrared is what it looks like to me.

This is, apparently, their answer to the Pocket Wizard ControlTL system. The Barbi Doll clothing reference is a good hint.

First it has to arrive. The ControlTL stuff works. They do have RFI problems with the FCC version. That is mostly because they purchased (long ago) specific radio frequency spectrum, that just happens to be right next to the RI emitted by Speedlites.

It will be interesting to see, especially the price point.

The link above is to a PR piece justifying delays. (at least its written in American rather than translated Chinese. :) )

Saw this on ebay.

A set of Phottix odin: one sender and one receiver for $371

http://www.ebay.com …ories&hash=item45fc7d1bae (external link)

A set of one sender and two receiver for $528

Quite expensive. Looks like direct competition to TT5 + AC3.

At this price, can't afford to even try it. Must read a few reviews for both Phottix Odin and Pixel Kings to see which one makes more sense.

Still learning
Nikon D750, Sigma 24-105OS, 105mm 2.8g micro VR, Tamron 70-300VC
