A selection of photos I took at the QCAS on Saturday. I severely dislike photographing airshows when it's cloudy, but tried to make the best of it that I could. The entire album is here. (external link)

I haven't even began to look at the photos I took during the Blue Angel's performance.

Thanks for looking. Would appreciate any tips/advice for airshows on these sorts of days.

Shadow/highlight tool seems to help make the aircraft stand out in the sky a little better. It will also give your vapor on the F15 a little more definition.

Thanks for the tip. Is that the name of the tool in LR? I only have PS7... old skool.

Yup - was wondering when that would get noticed. :) From the best I could tell while panning with the truck, it hit a dip in the runway which caused the back-end to come up. I wonder how often that happens to them. I sent them a link to the photo, but haven't heard anything back yet.

My guess is that the truck being so light and going fast. When it hits any bump it bounces and you captured it perfectly I had one with the tires off also but near as good as yours .

I guess I would rather the back wheels bounced than the front get off the ground!

Nice shots, looks like you have done a good job with the tricky lighting. Solid grey cloud isn't much fun to shoot against. What settings did you use?

Thanks, Ramrod.

I mainly shoot manual and settings varied widely. For prop planes I tried to keep shutter speed below 1/400th, but my favorite lens (300 + 1.4x tele) isn't IS, so I end up with many that go in the scrap pile.
