We had a really good time during this photo shoot. Aren't they a great looking family? As always, your C&C would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

You did pretty well here, and the B&W one of the kid in the chair is just too adorable. That one should be on their wall.

You probably already learned some lessons here. In your 6th shot, you didn't have enough depth of field to get both the parents and the child in focus. Easy fix for next time, just use a smaller aperture. Even though your backgrounds are out of focus, they're a bit distracting because they're sometimes brighter than your subjects. Fill flash or reflectors can help, putting more light on your subjects so you can darken the backgrounds.

You caught some nice expressions on the child. They should love that. Next time try to get a few different expressions from the grown-ups, too.

Overall, a good effort here. Keep shooting.

@ gibbit1: thank you very much for taking time to leave comments. Yes, I definitely hear ya! I was only able to use reflector as fill for just few shots... (like #2 & #3) I figured I could just get by without fill for most other shots but I guess I was so wrong. :( You caught me!! BTW, I intentionally made the parents out of focus to put extra attention on the child's expression... Maybe I should've made it more out of focus? I don't know... Hey, but thanks again for your valuable input!!

@rick: thanks for the comments. :D

Very cute family and I think you are off to a great start!

Some CC for you (I apologize if any of this is a repeat...I haven't read all of the replies).

Weird...all of the photos aren't loading for me so I'll just comment on the ones that I can see. :)

1 Love the backlighting but I'm not sure what the point of the pictures in the frames are? I find them distracting but if they have significance to the parents then that would make sense.

5 Cute expressions on everyone but the DOF isn't really working for me here. I'd prefer to see everyone in focus in a shot like this.

6 WB is way cool...try warming it up in your RAW editing program.

8 Love this one but I would bring the exposure down a bit...faces are looking blown to me. I HTH!

I see what you were trying to do with #6, but I think that would only work if the child was held out in front of the parents, not behind them in the shot. Creative effort, though. Like I said, you got some very acceptable (and one really freakin' amazing) shots out of the set, and that ain't bad.

#9 is fantastic. At least, it's my favourite from the bunch. The lighting is nice and although I feel like the dad's feet are a little too close to the edge, both his and the kid's faces are exactly where they should be. Great job.

Other than that they're all pretty nice. #5 is great, and #7 could have used more light but is a cute shot nonetheless.

Number 9 is sweet! Still, nothing beats #5, IMHO. You should encourage them to get that on canvas.
