Xti with 75-300 at 210mm, F8,1/400 iso 400

cropped to make square,original width, resized to 1024.
pp'ed a little, adjusted for lighting, dodge in the eye a little.
Not as sharp as most pic's, but ok for canon worst zoom I think :)

nice close-in shot Ian. Something to watch out for are bright reflections off the water.

Thanks for the comments. I will watch out more for the reflections. I admit I have never thought about that, just concentrating on the bird..

Thanks Flo. Agree with you on the crop. All i have done is taken a little off the top and bottom. Next time I will try and compose the shot a little better.
