I like shooting with two full frame bodies, and eventually i want to upgrade to 2 5D mark ii's. Now the question is.. should i sell my 5Dc now and buy a 5D2? or should i wait until the 5D3 is announced?

What I'm afraid of is my 5Dc will lose value as soon as its announced. I'm hoping to break even with that camera so I'm a bit eager to sell it.

On the flip side, I'm hoping the 5D2 used will get cheaper when the 5D3 is announced.

Then again, I haven't been shooting nearly as much since I'm preparing to apply to medical school this year. So i could sell the 5Dc, wait... then buy the 5D2.

Sell Sell Sell! Now is the time to get what you can out of it. Prices will drop, maybe not as much as people say they will. But they will none the less.

If you'll be getting 5d2 anyway then you have to remember that the prices of 5dc and 5d2 will drop so there price difference probablly will be as it is now.
If you're planing to get Mark III then the best way will be to sell your 5dc now and wait until 5d3 is announced. Of course you can do that if you don't mind being left without backup body for few months

Why wait to start shooting with such a wonderful camera, The extra time that you have it will well be worth the few dollars difference IF the 5dIII is announced and then starts selling. The 5DIII does not exist right now. Go for it

i doubt i'll be able to afford a 5D3 whenever it does come out, so i'm most likely going to buy another 5D2. I suppose i will sell the 5Dc with a few weeks, unless until i get closer to having the extra cash to buy a 5D2.

sell the 5d2 now and that is quite a bit towards a 5d3. use the 5dc until the 5d3 comes out, then you can have a 5dc and a 5d3 :)

When the 5D3 comes out, I would imagine the difference in price between the 5D and 5DII will remain about the same, albeit both will be a bit lower.

If you can afford to have just one body in the meantime, sure - sell the 5D now and get the current market price and buy the second 5DII at the new market price, whenever that happens. But, you never know how long that will be because we only have rumors about the 5D3 release to go on at this point.

Plus, even after the 5D3 is released it may take a little while for the market prices to lower a bit for the 5DII and 5D. The demand for these cameras will still be there while the 5DIII is still at its introduction price.

my guess is that the used pricing on a 5D classic will drop like a rock when the 5D3 hits the stores for sale to general public. Given the retail price of the 5D3, I believe the 5D2 may hold its value on the used market. I just don't envision everybody with a 5D2 selling to 'move up' to the 5D3 as soon as it becomes available.

If I were in your shoes, I'd sell the 5DC NOW while you can still get ~$1k for it, keep the 5D2 and wait on the 5D3, if that's the body you really want.

If you don't need a backup body then I would sell the 5dc now. Then again, I don't think the 5dc will drop in price that much (maybe another 100-200) the 5d2 will drop more in price.
