Here are crops from the 24-70L and the Sigma 24-70 HSM. The Canon is the first image and the Sigma is the second which has previously been posted in this thread. Canon 1D Mark IV | Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM

My daughter and I both use one and for everything but sports, it's great. It doesn't quite keep up with fast moving action from my experience with the lens, so if that's an additional need for the lens, it seems that the consensus is that the Canon can keep up and is a better choice. Anyone have another opinion on this?

I got this lens to keep up with almost three toddler and have found it to be an awesome lens. I've never had the canon version, but for $700 (used) this in my opinion is an awesome lens! Can't imagine a wedding being faster than a toddler on a slip and slide.

IMG_2767.jpg Nice shot, I was getting at that in lower light situations it struggles a little more especially for dancing at receptions. I just notice a little hesitation from the lens before it would lock focus even in good light. If I had decided I could work with out I would have sent it to sigma for a check up on that. For the price difference it definitely is a worthy competitor to the canon. I sold the canon to get the sigma because it really appealed to me with the size difference and I've always liked sigma lenses. I guys since I was used to the canon it was hard to accept the sigma performance. If I had never had the Canon I would probably be shooting away with this lens and living every second of it. jdnan Senior Member More info | Jul 22, 2011 12:24 | #24 I don't have any problem with the lens focusing fast enough in good light, it's low light situations for basketball, etc. where the lens seems to struggle. I only get about 1 keeper in every 8 or 10 shots. Not a good ratio. It's fine in low light where the action isn't moving particularly fast, however, so I'm wondering if entrefoto is shooting speed weddings??
