I just want some cheap optical flash for backgroud lighting. I'm not expecting YN560(metal foot) will last as long as the 430EX ll/ 580EX ll but how long do they usually last?
Is there anyway to fix them if they just stop working after a while?

I had a 460 II and it pooped out after 4 months. YN's quality control isn't there yet as far as their speedlites are concerned.

i ordered mine when they first released (directly from YN), and haven't had a problem with them. i think today, build quality on these are a little better with the metal foot (mine have the plastic).

460 II and 468 both still working, though mostly light usage over maybe 6-12 months.
