Well, i Tried to keep the exposure times faster to help with the motion blur but came up short.... Auto focus was on servo for both. I realise now that the exposure time was way too fast for the flower. And while it may seem retarded to some, i don't want to put that camera on auto anything. There is no learning there.
My current issue i feel is learning the appropriate exposure time for different kinds of pics.
What do you guys think?
Girl-
Exposure Time: 1/200 sec
Aperture Value: 5.00 EV (f/5.7)
ISO Speed Rating: 400
Focal Length: 39.0 mm

Flower-
Exposure Time: 1/125 sec.
Aperture Value: 5.62 EV (f/7.0)
ISO Speed Rating: 100
Focal Length: 49.0 mm

AI Servo is wrong for the flower. Was it running around? You must have been quite close to it to have such a shallow depth of field at f/7.0. Most of the flower is out of focus, possibly because the AI Servo was hunting.

As for the girl, she's a cutie. When you get tired of playing around with the manual controls of your camera, your next learning task might be composition and uncluttered backgrounds. Unless she was running around like the flower, AI Servo was probably not a good choice here either. Her eye is out of focus. You always want a crisp eye with a nice highlight.

I read that the servo would be satisfied if the object would be motionless. Makes sense, Ill try it again.

my daughter was running around like crazy- i hoping was to catch her in mid stride.

thanks for the input

The AI Servo isn't adequate for both shots. I am honest, they are a bit Out Of Focus. Try with regular AF. Also for the flower you don't need f/7, f/2.8 or 4 can give you a nice bokeh

your framing is off. the girl is ok; zoom out a little. the flower a little biased to the left.
