My wife and I drove to Lock and Dam 14 this past Friday just to see what it was like. We did this as a day trip (9 hrs round trip) and probably won't do it again for Pelicans. There were Pelicans (about 2 dozen) and they do present some nice photo opportunities BUT they are not EAGLES. :( My wife and I really enjoyed walking out under the trees where the eagles sit.
If anyone does go the Pelicans are primarily located on the Illinois side of the Mississippi.
The EXIF for the photos is:

Just a guess, but I'm thinking the pelicans were on their way thru the area on the way to a breeding region. ayou only see them in Peoria for a week or two. Nice captures.
