This is a goldfinch that I saw in a relative's garden in South England. It was rare for them to come to the garden. So I was lucky to be able to capture this image. It is cropped and I used the 250mm lens with IS. 200 ISO. C&C is welcome.

Very interesting. One thing I love about this forum is being able to see birds from other parts of the world with the names I know but they sure look different. Thanks so much for sharing. Here gold finch looks like this:

I just looked up on the Internet, there are two main types of goldfinches, European and American. Obviously the one I took is a European goldfinch. Your photo looks fantastic.

I don't know why it looks blurry. I just reopened it and re-saved it. I think it looks slightly better. I have a feeling it was because it was moving a lot. It just did not want to stay still. Also, it looks better when it is not at 100% crop.

Although, I do have the same bird from a different angle because it was moving constantly.

In this case, would using the TV mode have been better?
