Here's how it looks right now, which is pretty typical for this time of year. It's staying below freezing now, and is usually below 0 F by Halloween. It usually melts off by the middle of May though, (winters S### here)

Our fall usually happens around the last week in August, and the first couple of weeks in September. Here're a couple of shots from than

Great shots!
Love them all but maybe the pipeline could stay out of the last one?

I think you might have an issue with the calibration of your monitor, as the panos are lacking contrast (at least in my monitor).

Cheers,
Jaime

Nice shots, Dana. The last one brings back memories of Sept 12, 1950, when I first sat in my new office at the Geophysical Institute, Univ. of Alaska, and looked out across that very scene. It soon made me queezy in the stomach. It was several days later before I realized that the colors reminded me of my mother's succotash, which she made by putting a can of string greenbeans with a can of corn - my least favorite dish. I had no further troubles with the fall colors after that.

Regards,

Harold

You shouldn't complain when you live near mountains like that.

Thanks all for your comments. I don't live that close to the Mountains, those in the photos are about an hour and a half south of here. It gets pretty cold in the winter (-30f to -60f), so I dont drive anywhere I don't need too.

I love the pipeline too. A few years ago we traveled in our truck to Alaska for a month's visit. We were sure tickled to follow the pipeline down to Prince William Sound.
It is a beautiful state and you have some beautiful photos of it.....

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Don't care much for the first two, but the rest are superb! Yes the pipeline is fine, I'd like that one either way with or without.
