As a mechanical engineering graduate this year at UC Irvine, our team built up an FSAE race car to compete with colleges around the world (such as Honda Technical College of Kansai, Oregon State, MIT, Washington, Maryland, as well as other international colleges from France, Brazil, Mexico, and China).
I was very impressed with how we did with the time we had (~10 weeks to design/build the car compared to a full year like the other colleges) and the budget we had (will not disclose but some schools had more than a sufficient budget)
Overall, we came in 28th place of 61 colleges that competed (80 signed up), where we took first place for gas efficiency, and I was very impressed with how we did. This was hands down one of the best college experiences I've had and will not forget competition and companionship among other colleges.
Enough with the talking, here are some pictures!
I was messing with some presets and tones.
