I have shown Michele and Jake here a few times before. Their wedding was the day before Heather and Nick's Wedding, and the week before my final finals, graduating from SDSU the next Saturday.

Please enjoy, C&C Welcome

#2. Left photo doesn't work for me. Too much floor. Not too crazy about the angle and background on the right photo.

#3. It would have been cooler had the photos with the car been more symmetrical to each other.

#5. Clone out the lightstand feet!

#6. Chopped off limbs on the right photo.

You got some cool shots in the blog. Overall I think these are nice.

Thank you Nick.

#2 makes sense - it was a quick photo but something to improve with next time.
#3 True. I didnt think I was going to be doing it this way, but I was able to so that was nice.
#5 Very true. I thought I did clone them out - obviously not.
#6 Yeah.

Looks like a fun day was had, and what a pretty bride.
The dance shots make me feel a little blue because it looks as though no one was there to share thier day with them :-(

Bryan, you seem to be improving with every session I look at! So is it my looking or your shooting that's causing that?? Lol! I am loving your use of the rear flash, as I commented on your other recent post. Love 8 in this post & that is some tricked out limo!

Another great set, Bryan.
My only nit picks are what was already said: the chopped off limbs in 6.
I also would clone out the thermostat and light switch in 2b.
I realllly love 1a and b! Great groom shots!

I'm heading down to La Jolla today for an engagements session. Hope the weather's nice! :)

I tried to get you to shoot with me the day after, but you just had to shoot your own wedding. Where are those photos by the way?

I shot some facing the crowd as well, but I liked this background much better.

Thank you so much Michele. Yes, that is becoming one of my signature shots - I just think they have such a clean feel to them. I JUST placed an order for an Einstein strobe too, so I think Ill be using this style more and more.

Julie,
Good point. The lightpole is something I need to clone out in #3 as well.

Good luck at La Jolla, its going to be pretty busy. Try to go to wind and sea - great little rocky beach. And if you are looking for food, Smash Burger or Carino's are great little hole in the wall places.

Not much of a secret really. I found a base exposure to bring in some ambient light from the reception, and im getting pretty god at ball parking it. For this shot, I used my 35L a 1/160th, f2.5, ISO3200. I took a flash on a stand and put it off camera left at about a 45 degree angle. Then put a flash behind them, low power, and zoomed it in a bit to get the nice rim lighting. Pretty basic setup, but I love the result.

I have another one that Ill have to show soon that is the same style, but a bit different. I think you will like it.

Ooh, this is very local to me! Was the ceremony at the UCSD Scripps Institute of Oceanography- Grosvenor Family terrace? That seems to be a popular spot for weddings!
