I let my parents borrow it for a trip to Italy, and gave them the kit + 70-300. The 30D might be a great camera, but it's just incomparable in my opinion. And I got a remote shutter (T2i) + ND400 in the past 2 weeks. Can't wait to get it back .

I've got that lens and it's a pretty good one. Doesn't seem like it would give you much more reach than what you currently have though, and less on the wide end. I don't know if I would spend the extra $$ just for that little bit. Just my opinion though. ---------------
