Thanks Troy. That is an excellent shot you have there.

Why would you want extension tubes for a macro lens?

I was just using the zoom and focusing was a real pita.

Wow! 2 sets of tubes - he must have incredibly rock steady hands.

Might have to consider getting a ring-flash if ever a macro lens gets the nod.

Very true! Nice shots. I've had my macro lens for about a month and have had a lot of fun with it...there is a whole new world out there to be discovered.

Red Tailed Hawk 300-400 feet from my house. 55-250mm heavy cropping.

I've been watching this thing for a few days now but can't seem to get close enough to get a sharp picture. I used a tripod and 2 sec delay but still looks blurry. Probably the heavy cropping to get a descent size. Think it was set to f8 and camera gave me shutter around 1/400 at ISO 100.
