Nice shots everyone.
wuzer - fine shot. I have not seen a Triumph in ages. They do not build m/cs like they used to.
Cosplay shots are excellent.
DT - I love your dog.
Beef - excellent shot.

Hi everyone,

Thought I would start contributing to this thread because I love my T2i, its my first DSLR and Canon has won me over with it that I won't be looking at other brands anytime soon. Here is a photo I took the other day for my 365 project with it. Looking forward to contributing more in the future.

QUOTED IMAGE

Awesome shot & welcome :)

Hi, everyone! I enjoy lurking these photos! I have a T2I and I'm still somewhat fresh to photography, learning as a go~ May I ask what lens would be best for outside photos? Such as family gathering or animals? How about flowers and plants?

What about inside photos of people? Thank you!!

If I had the money these would be:
Outside/landscape: tokina 11-16mm 2.8
Animals: Canon 70-200 f4 IS L
Flowers and plants: Canon 100mm L macro
Inside photos: Canon 50mm 1.2L

But if you are like me:
Outside/landscape: tokina 11-16mm 2.8 still a reasonable price
Animals: Canon 55-250mm Is, more than reasonable
Inside photos: 50mm 1.8, you can't go wrong for $100 usd

Canon T2i | Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 | 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS | 50mm f/1.8 | 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS

you need quite a lot of lenses for this :D

1) a telezoom for animals
2) a standard zoom lens for stuff like family gatherings (your kit lens will do a good job)
3) flowers & plants - if you wanna get close - you need a macrolens
4) indoor fotos of people - a lens with a wide aperture like a 50mm f/1.8 which is also good in low light

:-)

OR maybe you'll get a lens like the "Canon 17-55 f/2.8", "Tamron 17-50 f/2.8", "Sigma 17-50 f/2.7" ... these are good multi-purpose lenses which are also good in low light and for portraits. and you can get quite close as well.

have fun!

Fishing for comments and criticism... trying to perfect my exposure with hints of fill flash. Any good? Thanks!

Very nice - natural or artificial light? It's cast very nicely over the subject either way!
