These little buggers are hard to capture..... went over to the inlaws house, and they have a bunch of hummingbird feeders, so I had the bright idea of trying to take some pictures of them (not). They are so fast!

Yes David, they are a fun challenge. Nice job catching one feeding.

Caught this guy sunning himself in the bird house

Chased this guy around for quite awhile waiting for him to sit still long enough so I could get some pics :)

Cool macro's Chris, especially dealing with that harsh, direct sun.

[QUOTE=trulie98;13061357]I find shooting at higher ISO and nailing the exposure gets me more usable images than trying to keep ISO low and raising it in post. That is just me...I've actually shot many usable images at 1600 ISO and even a few at 3200/6400 with the T2i.

Here is another from my 100's of hummingbird shots from last night. This image was shot at 800 ISO, fyi and heavily cropped.

same here....1600 is not that bad when it is needed IMO, Great shot on this hummingbird.

Thanks Peter.

The 70-300L is an outstanding lens but I feel limited by its range for wildlife shots especially inflight. Thinking seriously about getting a 400 prime.

Wow you are outdoing yourself with the new set.

Pic 2 - just a small suggestion - I would have waited a bit for the red van to go further into the bridge or waited for a clear road or smaller cars in the distance.

thanks.....I should have waited but the thing is we are following that van we are also driving, the top of the pic will be cut off and I want to show the top of the two poles. But you are right with the suggestion I appreciate it. thanks.
