Nice shots Dian...great sharpness, clarity and contrast especially for 1600 ISO. I would love to get my hands on the 400mm f/5.6 (was that the lens you were using?). Was this with a tripod or handheld? Nice job if it was handheld...you were at 1/500 of a second which is susceptible to handshake on a crop factor camera. Great job!

EDIT - oh never mind, I see you were using a 100-400 IS, which is another lens I wouldn't mind. I see that the IS helped out here if they were handheld shots.

Thanks, the eyepiece is just for comfort, no special reason for me having this on my camera, I find with macro you spend a lot of time with the cam stuck to your face while you chase the bugs about, helps keep the screen clean too ( marks from the nose etc )

Thanks. Maybe will need one when (if) a macro lens lands in the bag. :)

Great bird shots everyone, not my cup of tea, but I can still appreciate them.
If I took pictures of birds round here you would get hundreds of pics of skanky pigeons and the odd scrawny seagull.

Have never seen pics of "skanky" pigeons and never seen a scrawny seagull. Post some please.

Thanks Troy. Nice ones you have posted. You are lucky to have them around.

This is the only shot I was ever able to get.
