Hi Dian is this still in yelowstone? Great shot. We went there last year and did not have my t2i yet....I was still using my Canon P&S camera. What a place...landscapes, wild animals plus the geysers are amazing. Your shot is very sharp.

Been a while! Haven't been able to shoot due to being busy with school, so I decided to go edit some old photos from my road trip over summer. Went for a cinematic feel inspired by this thread: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1094897

Great shots everyone, peter the panning shots look great, trulie98- what exposures did you use? I tried for the first time a 5 exposure HDR(-2,-1,0,+1,+2) and it didnt realy look like a HDR shot at all.

I used (-1,0,+1) for this exposure. I'm still learning HDR myself and can't say that it is my strong suit yet, but I do enjoy trying. I am trying to get the more natural looking HDR's...my main goal was to try to get the details in the shadows of the trees while not blowing out the sky, which is what the HDR in that image I posted allowed me to do.

In my book that is a good thing, I haven't tried an HDR shot yet as I really don't like the fake chocolate box look. Along with over polished skin on models that makes them look like blow up dolls, and posed in such a way that it is like viewing 'photography by numbers', HDR is something I really don't like.
But each to their own!

I think HDR has its place and usefulness. Sometimes you can not match a scene to what the eye sees without doing something like a natural looking HDR. Other times, a grungy city scene looks pretty awesome in HDR. The beautiful thing about photography is the perspective of the artist. We could all photograph and process the same image different ways without one way being the "right" way. It is why I visit these boards and posts...I love seeing others interpretations.
