Nice Peter, did you slap on a TC for those?

Also try brightening them up a bit. 1 and 2 you should at least be able to see the eyes. 3 and 4 look ok. 3 is in fact very good.

I was hoping that my g/f would get me a 24-70 for Xmas, but she decided I need a ring... that is the same price as the 24-70!! -_-"

Took some pics of the ring from the Canon T2i /w kit lens I picked up during Black Friday while waiting for the mkIII whenever it comes out :]

My first outing with the Yongnuo flash, it is fully manual so a lot of the shots were very much hit and miss. And then couple that with the fact that I was using the nifty fifty which was a bit of a bugger to get focus with in the low light, I was fairly pleased to get half a dozen sort of ok shots. Please tell me where I have been going wrong, and how I can improve. I am ploughing through the Canon guide to using flash, but ;

I think some need a bit more fill like a bit underexposed. You can easily do this on PS or LR. Some do have a lot of detail and sharpness which will benefit at time of pp. I like the one with the guy looking down at the bass (idk if it's the same in English, we use that same instrument to produce bass in salsa music) The colors will come out nice in pp. IMO

Thanks DT, I dialed the flash down a bit as I really don't like the harsh light flash can give. One of my problems is that whilst I love the instant factor of digital I really don't like the feel of digital that much. I find too much of it is just too sharp, to bright and just too obviously 'digital', if you know what I mean!!!
My pp skills leave a lot to be desired.
Then having the nifty wide open at 1.8 may not have been the best idea in the world, but I will learn from my mistakes, it may take 10 years or so but I will learn, hopefully!!!

Please do, edit away and tell me how you did it. One request though, please do not smooth the skin or even think about using the devils software on it, Portrait Professional.
