A few mainly 'street' shots from the local market that takes place next to a racecourse (I would post number 4 in the Nude & Glamour Section, but sadly I don't have posting privileges yet, so I had better post some more. A bit of a spammers charter I suppose.) ;

Great stuff coming out of your camera Wide Boy. I think you have a nice style with your street shots.

Great combination of warm and cool colors.

Nice Peter, did you slap on a TC for those?

Also try brightening them up a bit. 1 and 2 you should at least be able to see the eyes. 3 and 4 look ok. 3 is in fact very good.

Thanks bobobird no tc at all I did a 100% cropped. I will try the original copy to edit again and do 50% cropping. Thanks again.

Cool street series there.

Is there any place else outside of the UK with a South Wales ??

----
Peter - thanks for the clarification. The crops look ok to me - just a bit of sharpening and brightening should fix them.

They have a New one in Australia, which does sometimes cause a little confusion.

well here is what i did in LR

Under the Basic tab
Exposure +.20
Fill Light +20
Vibrance +24

Under Tone Curve tab
Highlights +18
Lights +18
Darks +3
Shadows -5

Under the Details tab
Sharpening +10

now to the background i used the adjustment brush because i felt i needed a bit more light
so i highlighted the background
and set the
Effect: Custom
Exposure +.40
Brightness +24
Contrast +22
Saturation 0
Clarity +56
Sharpness 0

this is what i came up with lmk what you think and no, there was no smoothing done to it..in the end its just a bit brighter

nice series on the post above

Nice series wide boy.

I wish I have the courage to do street photography like you guys I don't feel comfortable doing it all although when I was in china town in Vancouver I took a few pics. I have to you used my telephoto lens.

I used to do a lot of street photography in the 1980's and it is comfortable for me. I used a 50mm lens on a 35mm slr then and use a 50mm now on my crop as I think using a telephoto makes it look as if you are up to something. I have come across a lot of reactions from the idiots who start posing to the psychos who get a bit angry. Best just to smile and always be prepared to show them you have just deleted the picture you have taken of them if they ask you to.

Thanks T2i4me, I don't think you get tourists in Newport!!!

I see what you have done DT, and I see why you have done it, but to be honest, looking at the 2 together I prefer my edit. It is more 'real' and has a bit more feeling to it, a bit more tactile, and film like. I honestly don't mind things a little soft, life is not as sharp as a digital photo!
