Yeah, there's a couple of bikini shots some peoples bosses wouldnt like :p.

Good site, very informative. My aim for next year is to do as much stuff outdoors as possible. Read so much on lighting recently. Just need to understand it all now!

What kind oh engine is that. I'm work in an aviation co. Looks like a commercial engine due to its size. But I could be wrong. I do see what looks like cf6 blades on the aft end of the fan.
Nice pic.

Asked Santa for the nifty fifty for Christmas. Looking forward to testing it.
What did you guys ask Santa for?

I always thought I'd wait until I could afford the 50mm 1.4 instead as it's supposed to be a much better lens but I just haven't had the cash to spare.
Seeing some of the shots people have taken with the cheaper version I thought I may as well ask for it for Christmas.
By the way, does anyone know what the difference is between the original nifty fifty and the nifty fifty II?

I also asked Santa for an ND8 grad filter and a 52mm CPF which will fit on my 60mm f2.8 and the nifty fifty as well.

found this in another forum

I used to own the MKII, then switch to MKI and then now have the f/1.4

MKI is better than MK2 because ..
- Better build quality. (not as good as f/1.4)
- Has metal mount instead of plastic.
- Has distance scale.
- Manual Focus ring is not at the front of the lens as in MKII.

Other than that, it usually cost a little more then MKII even if it is used. As far as the optical performance concern, I do not see any different between them when looking at the photos taken with the lenses.

i didnt ask for anything yet though i do want that 24-70mm but nope not at this time:cry:

I think U did great tele
I prefer vignette a lot lighter buy that my personal pref.
Other then that looks good.

thanks.. noted.. im gonna turn it down a bit tonight..

DigitalTuned wrote in post #13516898 (external link)
Why? you ask
Because we all know that vignetting is to draw the eye to the subject and obscure us, the viewers, from what's not as important. Too dark makes me feel like I'm looking through a tube.

There I said it..lol

Btw I forgot to mention WB is very good IMO
Nice job

hmm did u hear me?? i thought i grumbled it low enough..
I gotcha.. yeah see i like the "tube" look...

last night's class was a joke.. im not happy with it..
was about weddings.. and the photographer went over what he did in the 80's... and you should have seen the vignette in his pics.. you think mine is dark!!!!! :p

Peter2516 wrote in post #13517081 (external link)
I like the one 2nd pic.....great tele in vignette.

Thanks! yeah i see vignette is a subtle preference of some.. :D

@ bobo- nice pics...

@ peter - wish i could get rays like that!!!!! and you are stepping up the hdr there man!!! GJ!!!!

I just upgraded to the 1.4 and the build quality is alot better but my 1.8 took some stunning shots but the IQ and bookeh on the 1.4 is better

Damn! Should've asked for the Mk I. Oh well, never mind. I can always sell it later on.

You can easily clone stamp those marks out and save the photo if you want....?

Yeah I will probably still get the 1.4 at some point but there's no real urgency for it right now. Especially since I already have the 60mm f2.8 which is great for portraits.

Yeah guess I can do that.. But there is sooo much I'm afraid what it will look like in the end. But I can give it a try
