Obviously slightly touched up the RAW in Lightroom, but overall I thought it came out great for someone just learning how important the big 3 settings are. Give me a while to actually learn it and I'll post more. I'm loving the thing, and it's LEAPS above my old XT. Just gotta read through "Understanding Exposure rev. 3" to actually understand photography a bit more. I'm already addicted 100x more than any time in the past.

I'm looking forward to really getting into it. With 2 kids I want to make sure I have tons of pics of them growing up. Nice... same thing here 2 kids 5 and 3 years of age. I've been wanting to get back to that book. Peter

Thanks for your input Peter i think they look really good.especially the dock shots. im trying get get a handle on landscapes as well, its great to have a forum that you can bounce ideas off of. i was going to do the same with a few of mine from this last week end. im looking forward to seeing how your new lens does for you. Cute shot! digitard wrote in post #12783861 New user. First post in the thread. I'm a novice photographer. I bought my Canon Digital Rebel XT back in 2006 because my first born was coming, and I wanted a camera that I could build on. I never got to the building. Took TONS of pics, but never learned how to use it. Just recently I wanted to get back into it, and the wife surprised me for my birthday (this week) with the following: - Canon T2I w/ kit lens - Canon 28-135mm 3.5 IS USM - Canon 55-250 IS - 16GB Class 10 memory card - New camera backpack We kept the 50mm I had picked up, but never really got to use. Since she actually gave me the camera 2 weekends ago to play with since we're going on vacation this was my first attempt at actually learning to use my camera. First time in M mode for me. I now see what you all talk about...lol. Obviously slightly touched up the RAW in Lightroom, but overall I thought it came out great for someone just learning how important the big 3 settings are.
