I bought a wide angle lens/macro converter and attached it to my 18-55mm kitlens it is IMPACT DVP-WA 50-58mm PRO DIGITAL 0.5X. got for 50.00 bucks

I have 30 days to return it. I am buying the tokina 11-16mm before the end of the summer, I would like to get your opinion should I keep this converter of return it?

I have done PP on the pictures accept for the first pic.

Thanks for your input

Peter I think the shots look pretty good, especially like the pier shots. But I imagine the Tokina will amaze you and this lens may never see the light of day!

Very nice ones Peter. As T2i said, not much point keeping it since you are getting the Tokina. But its only 50 bucks...

New user. First post in the thread.

I'm a novice photographer. I bought my Canon Digital Rebel XT back in 2006 because my first born was coming, and I wanted a camera that I could build on. I never got to the building. Took TONS of pics, but never learned how to use it.

Just recently I wanted to get back into it, and the wife surprised me for my birthday (this week) with the following:
- Canon T2I w/ kit lens
- Canon 28-135mm 3.5 IS USM
- Canon 55-250 IS
- 16GB Class 10 memory card
- New camera backpack

We kept the 50mm I had picked up, but never really got to use. Since she actually gave me the camera 2 weekends ago to play with since we're going on vacation this was my first attempt at actually learning to use my camera. First time in M mode for me. I now see what you all talk about...lol.

IMAGE: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6122/5953668214_b142886026_b.jpg

Obviously slightly touched up the RAW in Lightroom, but overall I thought it came out great for someone just learning how important the big 3 settings are.

Give me a while to actually learn it and I'll post more. I'm loving the thing, and it's LEAPS above my old XT. Just gotta read through "Understanding Exposure rev. 3" to actually understand photography a bit more. I'm already addicted 100x more than any time in the past.

Yeah,
I have to say knowing ZERO going into the book just reading through the first 15-20 pages gave me a HUGE new insight into things, and has helped me a lot already. I'm looking forward to really getting into it. With 2 kids I want to make sure I have tons of pics of them growing up.

What a great image as your first post and wonderful gift from your wife!

Peter,

Nice shots! You have a great eye!

For 50 bucks... and this kind of output, I would hang on to your converter. I recently picked up the Canon EFS 10-22mm and so far love what it does, I'm just not sure how often I will use it.
