I let out a little chuckle once I saw the lens! ![]() So is there any reason why I shouldn't pop this little gem on my 5D MkII and play around with it? Hosted photo: posted by MWhite in ./showthread.php?p=13283962&i=i85889065 forum: Canon EF and EF-S Lenses See my samples above, it's crazy-sharp from f.5.6. I can't remember if I tested it much at f/4. If it comes down to images alone, this lens isn't too horrible, aside from the nervous blur. Stop down to f/8 and be amazed!

It doesn't look like that great a lens, though it is ultrasonic...

The 35-80 PZ takes a 52mm filter. It doesn't look like that great a lens, though it is ultrasonic... The EF 22-55 USM isn't a great lens. It was the kit lens for the EOS IX lite which was an APS film SLR. What makes it interesting is that it is a full frame zoom lens that goes really wide on full frame for little money. You get a zoom lens that goes wider than the 24-105 or 24-70 L lenses. It is also useful for the D30, D60, 10D cameras for use as a low cost, small midrange zoom since those cameras don't take EF-S lenses. It flares and washes out easily so it is necessary to keep the sun off of the front element unless you like that kind of thing. Mine is reasonably sharp, just not great contrast.
