oh boy I want this lense BADLY!

Nah, you don't need it, I saw your posts so great amazing without this lens so i don't think you really need this.
I know you want it, and if you ask me, this lens is almost "PERFECT"

On the Mk II N. Wide open.

Reposting, so this is a link. Just wanted to demonstrate again how good this is at f/2

Incredible images from this lens! Question: how big of an issue is it handholding this baby? It's obviously very sharp wide open so that helps tremendously.

Not trying to dampen the deserving praise for this lens but I rarely use a tripod and wonder about the non-IS. Thanks.

It's light (750g). It's not the monster that other wide primes are. Very similar in weight to a 24-105 or 24-70. I could hand-hold this lens and hike with it all day long, no problem.

My shot was handhold, i never used this lens on tripod yet and i will never use tripod if i keep my shutter speed about 1/60 and faster.

depends on your hand holding skills... If you have good technique you can easily get to 1/60th, and even 1/45th... I don't consider myself very stable and have been shooting at 1/60th w/o any issues at all. It's size/weight just make it very easy to hand hold which is nice. It's much easier to handhold than my 70-200 was.

Very impressed with this lens. I've had it an hour or so.

As I posted in another thread, here is a quick and dirty test:

135L f/2 on my 5D
Shutter 1/500, ISO 800, f/2 hand held no USM, just resized and "saved for web"
