I would like to photograph Whitetail bucks in the Missoula area. I do know that there are many whitetails in the city of Missoula that are used to people, and therefore are not likely to get spooky and run off when someone attempts to photograph them.

Although I know that there are such deer are in the city (and it's immediate surroundings), I do not know precisely where the better bucks can be found. Therefore, I am asking for any help that folks in the Missoula area would be willing to give. If you can let me know about any specific locations where bucks with particularly large antlers can be found, I would greatly appreciate it.

I assure you that my only interest in these bucks is in photographing them, and I have no intentions of shooting them with anything other than a camera!

If you are uneasy about posting any such information here for all to see, then feel free to PM me or, better yet, send me an email.

Thank you!

Tom

Tom, I've seen deer along the Clark Fork, but not the bucks with big racks. I wonder if the local outfitters would help you by giving away their locations.

Thanks for the suggestion, Sparker, but . . .

I'm specifically looking for bucks that are in areas where hunting is not allowed. Outfitters' interests are in bucks that can be hunted. Hunted bucks are spooky, and rarely, if ever, allow a photographer to work them as needed for quality images.
