I was at my morning hang out, Tazzaria (external link), when we noticed a bit of commotion in the street out front. I grabbed my trusty 20D / 17-85 IS and snapped a few.
Some folks came into the coffee shop and asked it it was me because I also ride a red bike. I was happy to announce that it was not.

Thankfully, the truck does not appear to be seriously harmed. I drive a white truck, too, and scrupulously avoid contact with red motorcycles.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

It appeared that the biker panicked and tipped it over (rookie mistake) then the truck wedged on top of it.
Not only was the truck not hurt neither was the rider. Even the bike appeared rideable.

It would also have been considered as very bad form for the rider to bleed on the truck.

Thanks Marie. It is always a good thing when they look worse than they really are.

Yup, two kinds of bikers, eh? I was always able to ride away from my falls, although once I didn't have a clutch that worked.

:o:o:o:o

I read my original post, and it sounds pretty cold. I had assumed by the thread title that nobody was hurt, so I decided to be silly (stupid?).

As a person who actually has shed more than his share of blood on motorcycles (as well as assorted bruises, burns, and scrapes), I can assure you there is nothing funny about an accident, especially with a truck. I really should have known better.

Most of my injuries occured when riding off road. In traffic, I was a real white knuckle pansy, which is probably why I'm still alive to talk about it.

Actually, it was the trauma of an accident that caused me to park it once and for all. I wasn't a pariticipant, but I saw it, and it was messy enough that I promised myself that I'd never make my wife have to deal with something like that.

I always hate to see something like that. I only dropped a bike once. Scraped up the side of the engine, but no real damage, and I was able to ride away. I had a couple other close calls though, like the time I was hit on the freeway. Fortunately, I didn't go down that time. Or once when someone made a left turn across my path right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and the bike whipped around in a complete 360. I don't know how I managed to stay upright through that...

:(
you were lucky

and no need to worry about you sounding cold, ever Tom
for one, I don't think I read all the replies anyway, so I never noticed that you joked about it
(sorry)

anyway, you were right to joke as you had read the 'title' properly
that no blood was shed
thank goodness

I have been known to joke with pictures like it myself :o
so I know you understand how we can get caught up with other things going on in our heads, just for a few minutes, initially

thanks
