Problems with Cactus V5 Triggers

I recently purchased 2 sets of Cactus V5 Triggers and used them out in the field for the first time for an automotive magazine assignment and had some serious problems.

I shot out at the race track where temperatures reached 94f. Everything worked well at first.

After shutting the units on and off a few times to conserve batteries. The transmitter stops triggering. I pressed the "Test Button" and didn't get the "Orange LED".

I tried to flick the switches between "TX" "OFF, and "RX" modes repeatedly and flicked through the channels as well. Without success, I tried tried swapping out the Receivers and Transmitters. Nothing worked for 20 minutes so I just gave up.

I tried playing with it later and occasionally it works perfectly without any issues. And when I got home tonight, everything works.

I am not sure if it is my error or if the triggers are faulty

sometimes mine don't work either. i always bring back ups and swap them if they stop working. and the other day one of them was rattling and when i took the batteries out a tiny screw fell out. they work again later though so i don't know what the problem is. i think i need another set just in case for backup....

There seems to be a heat related problem. I am waiting to check this out with the two different sets I have but it has not been hot enough yet.

Harvest One (Gadget Infinity) has looked into this but I don't know what they came up with. Send them an email.

Did you try swapping batteries on location?

this thread is good to know and keep in mind for me. so far my triggers have work flawlessly better and more reliable than PWs. but ive been using them indoors away from any remote possibility of heat.

seams like if i did use them outdoors i should put a piece of white cardboard or something to reflect as much heat as possible...

Mine do that and it appears to be in the slide switch.
Have to shut them off then back to trans or rec.

Hey guys. Yes I swapped out batteries. I tried swapping out units too. They just completely fail at times and not even the test button would work. Now I am wondering if CyberSyncs and Phottix would would have the same problems?
