Well, yes. But some of what they're selling is "fun", and I didn't feel like I was over-charged for that at this fair.
They actually did have some neat historical stuff there... there was a group from the Higgins Armory Museum (well... from the Higgins Academy of the Sword, which is affiliated with and based at the museum) who did demos and lectures on historical foot and mounted combat, and a falconry talk by a rehabilitator. The woman cooking was preparing historically accurate recipes, and not taking much in the way of shortcuts. She did have a motorized spit turner, but people tend to frown on using dogs or children to do that sort of thing these days...

(I didn't include these originally because I'm not as happy with the images, but since the subject came up...)
It's commercial, but it's also a fun way to spend an afternoon. And this one was less commercial than most.
