Hey guys,

So I've finally put together my very first coloring reel and am looking for feedback.

It can be viewed here: http://vimeo.com/25497184 (external link)

I tried to look for the worst takes in my giant inventory of footage. I wanted to show that even when you screw up in camera settings that the footage could be recovered. Aside from one or two of the grades, I focused more on color correction than artistic coloring. I.E. shots done at night actually look like their at night, shots done during magic hour made to look like midday, etc.

Also added in one or two clips with twixtor, de:noising, and motion stabilization to show a little more range.

So yah, feedback would be great =).

Also, what do you guys use to color? Currently I use magic bullet looks (the tools, not the preset looks) to color but just curious if I'm missing out on something better with more options. The one thing MB:L doesn't have that I would kill for is something to edit individual colors, your stuck editing the entire spectrum, for example, if something is overly green just to lower the level of green in frame or tint it to something different.

Good stuff. For more control than MBL, look into Colorista II. I'm still using the Colorista free version, which is fantastic for a free plugin... but have lost more than a few droplets of drool while watching the demo videos for Colorista II. Just waiting for that day when I don't have something else on my list that's a more important use of $300

Just got done trying out colorista II. Seems amazing, now I just need someone to walk me through how to use it =p

Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you watched the videos - Stu Maschevitz (sp?) steps you through a lot of the basic functionality. Even after just watching those a couple times, I feel like I could hop in and take it for a drive fairly easily. That thing has some serious power to it.
