I spent a very enjoyable weekend at my "local" track watching some tintop madness. Weather ranged from "get your sunblock out" to "why did i leave the umbrella in the car?" but that only added to the fun....sort of.

Saturday free practice was a bit damp..(1D MKIIN & Sigma 500 EXf4.5 DG)

Great shots mate. I need to get myself a 400mm or a 500mm lens one of these days!

Been looking forward to these for some reason ;-)a.

Apart from the obvious :-) the photo of Plato at Clervaux is a cracker, and shows just how mucky conditions were on Saturday morning.

Cheers,

Simon.

Spandex suit doesn't leave much to the imagination, does it? Lord... You guys get cooler cars than us. I hate you for it. Nice shots for sure.

Great set Geoff, really like them all.....

Quick question Geoff, How did you get such a low angle on #3,4 & 5?

And also how did you get infield on #6 ? ( ITV showed loads off speccy's infield )

Alan

Cheers Alan

I seriously considered selling my 500 last year and actually agreed a price with a dealer. I chnaged my mind at the last minute and bought the 100-400L to go with it :D

I do hope i didn't keep you waiting too long ;)

Even though the weather did it's worst, i haven't enjoyed a circuit meeting this much in ages

The low angle in 3 & 4 is over that annoying fence on the back straight. They're long shots with the 500 which puts me pretty much at the same level as someone shooting trackside further along the straight.

5 is also over the fence at the complex, but taken a few steps up the banking.

To access the infield, walk up past the chicane towards Tower. About half way up the straight there's a crossing which is only manned for Major events. You can get across between races as long as they aren't running behind schedule. Be aware that you could be "trapped" for a while if they're struggling for time.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Sorry for any spelling errors etc, i'm replying on my iPad and it's not really large finger compatible :D
