Could someone ID two birds please?

Hi all.
Need help with ID of two birds.
I'm guessing first bird as a Field Sparrow, second as a female duck but no idea what duck family. I have very little experience with proper bird recognition.

Not too good on the LBBs(little brown birds), but I can't disprove your initial ID there. I believe that your second shot is a female Long-tailed duck (AKA "Oldsquaw").

Posting the location where the photos were taken will help tremendously.

The sparrow does appear to be a Field Sparrow. The duck is a female Black Scoter.

Both pictures were taken in the park of Sandy Hook, NJ.
Greatly appreciate help with the ID.

Given the stage of molt and lack of strong eye ring on Field Sparrow, I am pretty sure it is a juvenile.
