I'm sure that some use some sigma lens like the 85 f/1.4 and tells like the 300 and 500 just cause they are cheaper.

If you poke around their website, they feature several photographers that use their equipment. I'm assuming the photographers featured are probably getting paid (cash or free equipment) in return for Sigma being able to use them in their marketing.

I'm no pro by any means, but I'm finding I like what Sigma has to offer. So much so that sometimes I wonder if I should have went with a Sigma body.

I am finding that I really like Sigma lenses. I don't care if they have focusing issues and I have to send them in right away. I like my Sigma 24-70 better than 24-70L. I wast wondering if there is anyone here that is not getting paid by Sigma that is using all their lenses.

I think you will find that pros will use whatever gets the job done correctly. From what I've seen that job usually falls to an L lens.

I shoot mostly Sigma Lenses. I have had almost no trouble with focus issues, I have however had trouble in the past with the old crinkle finish on my old non DG 120-300 and non DG 100-300. I shoot mainly hotels and travel locations and find with most of the situations I shoot in (ie. non action) the photographer makes more difference than the gear. I my clients are happy and have never complained about the final product they have received from me.

I currently have Sigma's 50 1.4, 24 1.8, 85 1.4, 24-70 EX 2.8 and 150 2.8 EX Macro. I'll be grabbing a 120-300 OS and 15mm fisheye as soon as possible.

I find that Sigma's lenses seem to be getting better all the time. Some of the lenses they offer like the 150 macro, 120-300 and 100-300 have no real competition. The 50mm and the 85 are excellent. The 24 is great value and the close focus allows some interesting shots, the 24-70 is a good walk around lens, but mainly I shoot primes. I hope Sigma can soon offer a 120 f2 or 120 f1.8 and a 35 1.4 or a new HSM version of the 24mm macro also at 1.4.

All my sigma glass gets shot through a pair of 5D IIs

Canon 5Dii, Sigma 24mm f1.8, Sigma 50mm f1.4, Sigma 85mm f1.4, Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX Macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 Macro, Canon 135 f2L, Zenitar 16mm f2.8 fish eye (on the way)
A pile of ocf gear and modifiers.

I think all photos below taken with Sigma lenses, which are better than many of us with L.

There could be but that would be rather shortsighted. I would guess most pro's are using a combo
of lenses and taking advantage of all the lens makers. Most pro's I know are very pragmatic and don't
get into typical gearhead discussions about brands. They use lenses that sell photos or get published.

I bet many pro is going to like Sigma 85 if they've try it. I found it surprisingly sharp. Even some reviewers like it better than 85L II

I have a large colorful book "New book of photography", written by a pro photographer John Hedgecoe, and it looks like all (or most of) his lenses are Sigmas (pages 26-27). It's pretty old though - published in 1994.

Yes, lots of pros use Sigma lenses. They only shoot at night, so you rarely see them. ;)
