Hi gang! I'm usually hanging out in the birds section showing off my photographic passion. I was in Quonset, RI Thurs doing my paying job (pilot) when the Blue Angels arrived and did their low show. I thought shooting birds was hard! I bow to you aviation photographers, this was hard! Exposures were all over the place with dark blue jets against a bright gray completely cloudy sky. I tried different ISOs, shutter speeds, apertures, and exposure compensations. I was all over the place and so were the results. Here's a few of the keepers. Thx for looking!

Today was a wash.
Clouds rolled in, problem with plane #1, stopped the show for the commander to get in #7. Yesterday #4 had to land early and they did the rest of the show with 5 planes. They're not having a great year eh?

Just a little off topic but the news last night had a story that said they had to turn people away because too many showed up. That would be a bummer if I drove all the way out there and was turned away.

Yeah. Yesterday they said the gates were closed, which was surprising. There were definitely more people there Sunday, than Saturday, but there was still plenty of room for people. I guess it's based on parking, if the lots are full, the show is full. Kind of ruins it for people who carpool, while there's guys like me showing up by myself :o if they base it off of parking available.

p.s. really digging photo #1

I was pretty late on Sat. (~11am) but I guess people were expecting T-storms and decided to go on Sun. instead.

Did they have F-22 on Sun?
