That is sooooo like all the fake Irish and Italians around me in Boston.
"Oh, I am Irish". So you ask them "Cool, I lived out there for a bit, where in Ireland are you from?"
"Oh, I am not from Ireland, but I am Irish".




"No, you're a stupid mother****ing moron, you deserve to be in this country, with Honours".
Substitute Italian in place of Irish. It is bizarre. Heritage, sure, but come on...30% of U.S. folk have passports, and most of these fake wannabes have hardly left New England...
Unless we are specifically talking about heritage, I never say "I'm French," I am American, and proud of it. And that's why it makes me so sad when I run across ugly Americans.
