Here's that image I promised to post Steven. This is the same image I previously posted but, in portrait. I had to correct the slight barrel distortion but, it turned out nice I think. :)

yeah... now that you have a good amount of contrast here, I prefer the foreground of the landscape shots but of the 3, this probably has the most stunning sky :D

Well, the landscape and potrait were shot back-to-back(potrait first and landscape second). Maybe I should go back and reedit the landscape version.

on the first landscape(shot with the 14-24) you showed me there was very little yellow in the sky, this one has a good amount of it :D

while on the Zeiss one, the sun lost some of its details already... here its just right and the clouds is nice.

The Zeiss draws different from the Nikon. I understand what you're saying but, I can see you're partial to the Nikon lens.:lol: Plus, I put more love into the processing this time.

hehe Julian... its posts like these that I am looking for:

I have a friend who uses the Gitzo 5 series carbon fiber and one who uses the TVC-33. So I got to look at both. The 5541LS I was considering is very large (the top plate is as big around as the one on the 1410) and was only 2 lbs lighter than the Giottos I was using. Two pounds just was not enough weight difference to make me want run out and spend ~$800-$900, especially since the Giottos is plenty sturdy for my need. The TVC-33 wasn't much different (IMHO) than the 3541LS, but was a lot more expensive and in short supply at the time.

I agree that the GT3541LS performs every bit as well as the G1410, having tested it very carefully. This shocked me because the lower leg section on the G1410 is 8mm larger than the lower leg section of the GT3541LS, the G1410 being a 3 section plus one series larger. It made me a believer in both the performance benefit of CF and the performance of the G-Lock collars, which the older G1410 lacks. It's difficult to segregate the various contributions though.

Well, if you want comparisons, I can tell you that my 3531s legs are much thicker in diameter over my 1257. The benefit of the thicker legs is to obviously hold more weight but, it also helps with increased stability and decreased vibration. :) I haven't used my 1257 in a long time unless I'm using it for product shots. :)

well I am just reading up on all the good things about the 3541LS, and why I should go for it  thanks Julian
