Full open aperture start at iso 1600 up to 6400 for 5d2, maybe 32000 for 7D, specially now that it is summer.

Correct light pollution in your area. But Mt Wilson and Palomar are there too, shoot late so the objects are over the Ocean , not early when in the east over LA.

Actually yeah... if you want to get serious about shooting buildings you really do need a TS-E lens. :D

Also for your Mac for free get the photographers ephemeris, it shows your sunrise sun set, civil, nautical and astronomical twilights, moon rise and moonsets and anytime of the days shows you were the sun is, so if you are shooting a house tells you how the shadows will look...apps is TPE.

Agree totally. If you want professional results, that is. Alternatively, you can try and square things up in post. If you are serious about it, you save a lot of headache/annoyance and get better results with a T/S lens. Get out those BIG BUCKS!! :D

Well, at least you'll have a sweet lens to mount that POS to. :lol:

Also, you may need some specialized PS training. Here is something for you to start you off (it's totally free): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_X5uR7VC4M (external link)

Tony -> Meteor Crater:

IMAGE: http://harm.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Meteor-Crater/IMG3718/752826450_ujhTw-XL.jpg

As per your story of driving to see rocks etc. When I went with my wife and inlaws (1st and last time ever with them), the in-laws did ZERO research on what they would be seeing. So the monster-in-law would rabbit on saying "Where are you taking us now?".

Simple response to shut her trap was "Oh, just a nice cliff to push you over".

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the silence was bliss. Still is :D
