master, slave, cactus triggers

when using off camera flash units (430ex, vivitar 285 540ez, etc triggered by cactus v2) does it matter whether the flash units are master/slave?

when does the master/slave relationship become relevant?

im going through the stickies and see nothing yet about master/slave and usage of TTL when in master/slave, etc.


when im using cactus triggers can i still take advantage of flash TTL or will triggers only allow to me shoot manually?

Cactus are manual only, no TTL

Do not set the flash for master or slave. Set the flash to manual only.

Consider the Cactus V5 instead of the V2. It is more reliable. The added features are worth the extra cost.

Cactus V5 has the advantage of being a transceiver system. They are manual as well. No ETTL.
