Not to offend anyone but Canon is making their 1100D a part of fashion accessory. The 1100D is more like a gift for someone than something that you would buy for yourself.

I used to be a sneaker collector and if you haven't heard of SBTG from Singapore, he had a collabo with Canon:

It just doesn't feel like the purpose of the thing is to shoot pictures anymore but to wear it around your shoulders and show it off with a kit lens lol

Maybe, but I have seen people buy the high end gear, have no idea how to use it, but just want to be seen carrying it.

Its no different than Pentax, Panasonic, etc, Canon is obviously making an offering to keep up. I doubt they would do it if there weren't a market for it.

The more colors the better. I can see absolutely no negatives to having options. Look at the Pentax Kx and Kr. Hugely popular basically for the crazy color choices. Props to Canon for finally doing this. A lot of consumers get bored with black cameras.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Pentax's colors are in your face obnoxious. Canon's are nice and toned down and classy looking.

If it's such a "special" edition, they should have paired it wit a good lens (17-55 f/2.8) and release the lens in the same color the camera body is cast in. No red or white xD's or xxD's? A white/black negative model of a 5d mkii would look kinda cool... or a gunmetal grey or similar.

That may tempt some women into a DSL-R from a high end P&S..... It looks ok to me though. Its not a case of why for me, but why not. I'm sure Canon have done their research on this.....

Disclaimer - I'm not a sexist lol :)
