Currently have my website(s) hosted on Vodahost. They seem a nice bunch, service when needed (rarely) was always prompt and acceptable through their forums or via their other customer support channels. They offer everything unlimited and have so far been a 'good' host. I've been with them since 2005.

I would gladly continue hosting with them, but now that I'll be putting up a whole new website, I was just wondering what's new since 2005. If I search for the top web hosts online, almost every site has completely different top 10's and they all feel like sites made by the web hosting companies themselves for promotion or other affiliates simply looking for clicks. So basically unreliable.

If any of you are using web hosts (including domain) please provide some information on their services and please link to the site to check ot their packages.

*Please no smugmug or the likes. Hosting/domain services only.

I registered my domain with GoDaddy but point everything to InMotion (external link). I have used them for support reasons and as agonizing as tech support can be, the experience(s) were fast, thorough and clearly explained in layman's terms.

I would go with godaddy all the way. I went with them and everything is good. support is real nice and all. You can google information to get like 30% or 40% off your hosting and domain

I might stay away from GoDaddy, while a few have vehemently recommended them on here, there have been a lot of reviews and people that say their customer service is sub par and they don't have the best speeds/up-times. Perhaps the latter is what you get when you go with a popular host?

I have been using Versus Technologies (http://www.vstech.net (external link)) since 2002. The owner is a friend of mine and is top notch.

I host several sites through 1and1.com.
Great service and pricing. They have a website maker tool and such.

1and1 seems very interesting, had a brief read and could look a good deal.

Just pondering if I should move over or not. Thanks for the info.

HAHA! I was waiting for that.

It's true that it may seem like I shouldn't fix if it ain't broke, but not choosing to simply move to another host for nothing here. I was just wondering if there are any extras that people are possibly getting from their hosts that I currently don't. Search engine submission is one of the few things that seem tempting.

Either way, thank you all for your suggestions.

You can do that yourself. Having a solid website that is SEO friendly is the key. ;)

Yeah, true Mike. I've been reading the stuff you posted. I will come back to it when my site is ready for some action.
